Mariel is a current sophomore at Stanford University majoring in Urban Studies with a concentration in Sustainability in order to design and create equitable and sustainable cities that prioritize people — especially marginalized communities. She is an advocate for environmental justice and the implementation of Indigenous traditional ecological knowledge. This is her first year with Sprout Up and is excited to provide youth with essential environmental information that they might not have had access to previously. She is excited to expand Sprout Up’s outreach by beginning a chapter at Stanford University.

Serena is a sophomore studying Neuroscience and Earth Systems Sustainability at Stanford University and competes on the Varsity Beach Volleyball team. She joined Sprout Up in 2022, helping the chapter plant its roots on the Stanford campus. Environmental education is one of her biggest passions! You can find her hiking and exploring the outdoors whenever she can!

Anushka is a freshman at Stanford University studying Earth Systems with a concentration in Human Environmental Systems. She is passionate about environmental justice and education, and hopes to provide marginalized communities with equitable environmental outcomes and access to resources to expand their environmental stewardship. This is Anushka's first year with Sprout Up and she looks forward to furthering Sprout Up's goals of engaging local youth with environmental issues. In her free time, she loves to hike, scrapbook, read, paint, and do yoga!

Anneli is a freshman interested in Earth Systems and Human Biology. She is excited to be joining Sprout Up to share her love of nature and foster care and consciousness of the environment in youth and the Stanford community. She believes in environmental education to provide pertinent and memorable experiences for students of all ages. Her favorite ways to spend time are dancing (currently with Stanford's Cardinal Ballet Company!) and enjoying nature's beauty and solitude.

Ela is a current freshman at Stanford University who is currently undecided in her major. She is interested in environmental law, biomedical innovation, and marine conservation. She has worked on conservation projects in the past, focusing on sharks and butterflies, but is looking to turn over a new page with sustainability education. She is passionate about conserving all of our ecosystems as well as inspiring young minds to promote a healthy sustainable culture. This is her first year with Sprout Up at Stanford, and she is very excited to make a difference by spreading awareness and engaging with her local community.
