She joined her sophomore year as an instructor at Sprout Up and now hopes to help other volunteers have that unique experience. Sprout Up interests her because she wants to contribute to making future generations excited about science and the environment around them, just like others did for her!

Ting Ting is studying Economics and Psychology at NYU. Most of her previous volunteer experience involved teaching and environmental sustainability, so she is very excited to broaden her knowledge in these two fields through Sprout Up! Edgar is planning to pursue a joint major in Nursing and Global Public Health. During his high school career, he’s been able to gain firsthand volunteering experience at the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge working to reintroduce the endangered Mexican Gray Wolves. As an intern with the Bronx River Alliance, Edgar has fostered his commitment to ecological restoration and higher education. Now pursuing his role with NYUs Sprout Up chapter, he is looking forward to learning from his peers!

Rebecca is a junior at NYU majoring in Neural Science and minoring in Chemistry and Global Public Health on the pre-med track. She loves connecting children with nature through education and outdoor experiences and spent the past two summers leading hiking/backpacking trips for 4th-9th grade students in New England and Wyoming. Rebecca has been a Sprout Up member since her first semester at NYU and is excited to build community alongside her co-Community Managers this year!

Sophia is a sophomore at NYU, studying Econ and Journalism in the Liberal Studies program. Aspiring to study Sustainable Business, she is on track to research and work with the interplay of corporate finance, environmental products and entrepreneurship to promote a flourishing, sustainable economy. In her first semester, Sophia became a Lead Classroom Instructor for NYU's chapter. Greatly inspired by Sprout Up's mission, she cannot wait to work with her team to take great environmental and educational action this year.
